My name is Danica Tyrer and I have a passion for singing! Grande Prairie has so many creative and motivated people whom I have had the privilege of teaching for the past 8 years. Song Room Studios is a place where everyone that wants to develop their voice, build their confidence, and express their creativity, can thrive. My vocal training includes Royal Conservatory of Music examinations as well as experience with local and provincial music festival competitions. I have completed the first 3 years of my Bachelor of Music degree, attending Red Deer College as well as Grande Prairie Regional College (now Northwestern Polytechnic). Performing is a passion of mine whether it’s at a simple open mic, local theatre, or even at one my studio’s own live vocal recitals.

A core belief at Song Room Studios is that music is an essential part of a young person's growth and education, contributing to their overall well-being and mental health. Singing in particular, offers a form of personal expression that is invaluable for everyone. It is my goal as a vocal teacher to help people find that growth and personal expression.

Hello, my name is Jessica Doerksen! I met Danica in 2019, when I started taking singing lessons with her. Four years with the studio grew my confidence in my voice, along with a wonderful friendship with Danica. Song Room Studios has given me opportunities to perform at the Grande Prairie Music Festival, open mics and recitals. In 2021 I joined Peace River Bible Institute’s tour team Highest Call, where I performed at many churches across Alberta and BC. Since then, I have put on several café shows, where I have showcased covers and original songs.

I am so excited to be teaching vocal lessons, as I believe that I can offer a space for beginner vocalists to 1) find their style and vocal range, 2) have a lot of fun, and 3) grow into a truly confident singer!

I am specifically equipped in offering vocal games/warm ups, working through the break in your voice, and building confidence inside and outside of the studio!

I am thrilled to be embarking on a new experience, working with Danica and appreciating all the hard work that gets put into the other side of being a student. I am so excited to add to the lifegiving energy of Song Room Studios!

Hi all!! I’m Courtney Shera and I’m very excited to connect with all of you on social media and to plan exciting projects as the studio goes forward. Having met Danica in 2008, her passion for the arts fanned the flame of my own and we collaborated together in many different forms. Life took us our separate ways - I leaned into the culinary arts, graduating from NAIT in 2019, while still catching shows at the Jubilee when possible. The pandemic showed me how useful social media could be and while watching the growth of Song Room Studios from afar, I hoped to one day be a part of in it person!

I look forward to making things fun for all of you, giving you a sneak peek behind the microphone and being part of the special family that is Song Room Studios.
